Drowning in stuff

THE SIMPSONS NEWS
I’m back on show #8 again. Things have started out a bit slow but they’re picking up. The screening went well. So there aren’t many big changes. The complicated section that I had gotten for act III, the one I stayed late nights trying to finish, was rewritten. That was disappointing. It had a lot of characters and animals in it so it took a long time to do. All part of the job.
MY WEEK
We’ve been moving to a new place and it’s been crazy busy. We haven’t had internet until recently and it was driving us nuts. I haven’t updated my podcasts in weeks. I’ll write more about it next week.
By the way, I just wanted to ask the people that have e-mailed me from this blog if they have received my responses to their e-mail. If you have, please post a 🙂 in the comments. If you haven’t, please post a 🙁 . I just want to make sure that the e-mail thing is working. Also, starting next week I’ll begin responding to comments on the actual blog articles instead of the comments area. Okay, bye for now.

Rewrites during the middle of production is a real pain in the rear because it’s expensive and often times depressing for artists when we have to revisit scenes and CHOP THEM UP to put in new elements into them. But I guess the bright side is that we get more work that way and stay employed just a little longer…
I read from Paul Wee’s blog that FOX pulled the Cintiq’s out of the Simpsons productions after the feature was done. I thought that sucked because what was FOX going to do with them? All that money from the MOVIE , syndication, DVDs, and merchandise they could get Cintiq’s for the whole production and really create a smooth and efficient pipeline. From the design department, storyboard, and character layout you would them all interconnected. The storyboard department can shoot down rough panels to the design department digitally and have them designed before the boards are done. Character layout can access designs without having to wait production people take their sweet-ass time to get them for you. Everything will run smooth and fast…BUT then again it would mean shorter production schedules and shorter employment for the artists…SSSSSOOOOOOO NEVERMIND.
