THE SIMPSONS NEWS
Tuesday we got a treat at work. We were given free In N Out burgers for lunch (a popular hamburger drive thru in the U.S. for those of you who are international reader). It’s was great. It made me very happy. Hurray for free burgers.
I also started on the new crew I will be on Wednesday.
ALESHA’S BUSINESS
I haven’t really written about this before. Mostly because I wanted Alesha to get her site up and running before I did. That way, if someone was interested, they could order something online. What am I talking about?
For the last year or so Alesha has had her own business. It’s called Butterfly Natural Hair Care and Alesha sells…well… hair care product (among other things). Not just any hair care products, she sells hair care products that she makes herself. Alesha has always been into these products. Our bathroom looks like a warehouse for the stuff because she’s always kept buying them. Well, she finally got frustrated from using products that instead of doing what they ought, actually ended up damaging her hair. That’s when she decided to make her own. She didn’t want to make any old kind of hair products though. She wanted to make sure that what she did was all natural. No bad chemicals that would damage her hair. To that end she went out and researched all kinds of things in order to make her formulas work and still be all natural. Alesha was a Chemistry major before she changed it and became an English major. This means she has some experience with chemicals and mixing things up. She spent months and months researching and testing the things out on herself before she finally found formulas that did exactly what she wanted them to do.
Turns out that she was not the only person who wanted these things. When she told other people what she had done, they all wanted to try them out. Next thing she new, she was making hair care products for other people. It didn’t take long before she had a good amount of clients who kept asking her for more.
Everyone she sells to loves her products. It’s really amazing to me how much people like them. I’m very proud of her. Here are some examples of the things she sells:

And try out some out!
FAMILY
My father-in-laws birthday was this Saturday. We went over to my in-law’s house and celebrated his birthday. We brought a cake and ate crab legs while Alesha, my brother-in-law, his girlfriend and I played Bohnanza and Shadows over Camelot. It was a good day.
On Monday, MY dad celebrated a birthday. As of the time of this writing, we have yet to celebrate it officially, although when I spoke to him on Monday, he was at the Staple Center in LA with my brother and my mom, bowling. It sounded like he was having a fantastic time. I was a bit bummed because I was stuck at work. Still, I’m glad he was able to have a great birthday, with or without me. This weekend we’re planning to do something. Probably go to a nearby park for a picnic.
Happy birthday DADS!
COMIC CON
Not gonna go to San Diego Comic Con this year. It starts today. I’m really bummed out about it. I was looking forward to it all year. I’m not going because I can’t afford to go. Our financial situation isn’t good this month. Even though I can write off the whole thing, I need to be far more prudent with the finances as they are now and be more responsible. That doesn’t mean that I have to like it. It really sux.
Those of you who WILL be attending and go to The Simpsons panel will get a special Comic Con exclusive little something to see. It’s very cool. I know because I saw it yesterday. Just thought I’d pass that on.

Congrats on your wife’s successful product! I hope she does well.
BTW, I’m not going to Comic Con this year for the same reasons and I’m pretty bummed about it as well. And I got even more bummed when the Con announced today that Pixar’s panel will have Miyazaki speaking with Lasseter on animation. As crowded as it would be with fanboys, it would’ve been nice to have seen the master.
I was blissfully unaware of that. Now that I know I’m even more bummed out. THANKS A LOT BILL!
